The Full Story

I was inspired by my niece, Marichi Capino, to explore the wonderful world of bird photography. She had taken up the hobby as a way to find a creative outlet and a welcome break from the pressures of administrative medical work during the pandemic. Seeing her enthusiasm sparked my own interest, and I soon found myself enjoying this new adventure.

With Marichi's encouragement, the idea of creating a website came about as a way to showcase my bird photographs. She introduced me to website creation and patiently guided me through uploading my photos and putting the website together. I'm grateful for her inspiration and help in bringing this little project to life.

Since then, I've been taking lots of photos of birds around my home and while travelling. Marichi has been my companion on most of my birding trips, making the experience even more enjoyable as we explore new places and discover birds together. This hobby has opened my eyes to so much of nature that I might otherwise have overlooked. There's something exciting about heading out on a drive, wondering what birds we might encounter along the way. I enjoy the challenge and patience involved in capturing them in their natural habitats, and it's always a joy to hear their calls and songs. It's amazing how the tiniest birds can make the loudest sounds!

I gifted myself with Canon equipment in the last week of May 2022. Currently, I upgraded to a Canon EOS R5 Mark II. I also use the Canon 200-800 mm lens. Altogether, the equipment weighs about 6.4 lbs.

Birding is a captivating experience in and of itself, but more importantly the journey is family time.
