Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Birding is a wonderful way to appreciate the beauty of the natural world—and, surprisingly, to see reflections of our own lives in the lives of birds.
Like us, birds form bonds, engage in courtship, raise and protect their young, search for food, and travel great distances to return to places they call home. They communicate, care for one another, adapt, and survive in their own remarkable ways. Watching them closely can reveal familiar patterns of life and remind us how much we share with the creatures around us.
Their movements are captivating, their behavior fascinating, and their songs truly enthralling. I’d like to share some videos of my favorite birds and the moments I’ve been fortunate enough to capture.

These juvenile great white egrets are having fun at the Rookery in Ocean City, NJ this August, 2022. I took photos of their parents in May, 2022 this same year.
