The Prothonotary Warbler is a glowing golden treasure of swampy woodlands, lighting up shadowy forests with its bright yellow plumage and silvery blue-gray wings. It nests in tree cavities near water and zips through the foliage like a tiny beam of sunlight on the move. Named after robe-wearing clerks of the Roman Catholic Church (yes, really!), this bird is both historic and hypnotically beautiful.
