The Bufflehead is a pint-sized dynamo of a duck, with the male flashing an iridescent green-and-purple head that looks like it's been dipped in oil-slick shimmer. These little daredevils are expert divers, disappearing underwater in a flash to chase down aquatic insects and crustaceans like tiny torpedoes. Always on the move, they pop up like corks, bobbing and zipping across ponds with a mix of charm, speed, and a whole lot of bounce.
